I should be so lucky, lucky, lucky, lucky

Well today we had a lucky escape as the European Parliament booted out a patent directive that had holes a patent lawyer could drive a truck through. It would have allowed pure software patents contary to article 52 of the European Patent Convention. Technically now we're back at the status quo where the EPO just ignores the article rather than having a law to point at and say 'see you can patent software'.

planetGenesis is slowly crawling to a new release, hopefully this weekend if I get the documentation done.
